The menstrual cycle is natural process experienced by fertile women. It is accompanied by a hormonal activity that dictates the rhythm of physiological changes every woman experiences, affecting her health, emotions and cognitions. Getting to know their menstrual cycle can teach the women about themselves, and serve as an indicator of their general health and quality of life.
In my research, I have found that women who are unaware of the effects of hormones on their body do not associate the phenomena they experience with their sources and ignore warning signs arriving from it, in a way that could compromise their health. Moreover, consistent and ongoing documentation of the menstrual phenomenon is essential for tracking those changes and understanding the woman’s health condition. Such documentation requires effort and persistence, and the woman is liable to neglect it eventually.
The project is designed to reflect the effect of the hormones on the woman’s body by facilitating the recurring documentation, while consolidating on the multiple parameters involved, so that women could gain practical and ongoing benefit from it.
