This project examines love through a personal voyage to study the longing for a partner, using AI tools as both mediators and objects of study. The project invites the viewer to reflect on the nature of love in the digital age, challenging traditional concepts of relationships and examining the potential and limitations of technology in understanding human emotions.
The project combines personal conversations with former partners and close friends with conversations with an AI platform, involving the analysis of texts and contents from previous and current romantic interactions. It confronts the human insights with those of the AI platform, examining the gap between the two. The interaction raises fascinating questions about AI’s role: is it a supportive friend or professional consultant, or does it merely echo one’s inner voice?
Love is Complicated is more than a creative study of love, but also a critical examination of the way technology may shape our experience of love in the future.
