Improving the Learning Experiences of Bezalel Students with ADHD

During their studies, students with ADHD face challenges including difficulties in self-organization and meeting deadlines, in receiving, processing and organizing information, as well as in the socioemotional sphere. All affect their learning achievements and experiences.

The research included a review of articles and news reports, interviews with social psychology experts, interviews with students, alumni and lecturers from a variety of Bezalel departments, and in-depth conversations based on self-documentation with a focus group of students from a variety of departments.

The proposed solution is called Productivity Toolbox. It is motivated by the significant and broad difficulty of students with ADHD to manage a design project and produce a high-quality outcome while meeting deadlines. It is based on an overview of elements in the Bezalel system, particularly lecturers and tutors, as they affect the learning experience of these students. The proposed toolbox includes a variety of digital and other tools. The most important tool enables to break down a design project into stages, from extracting the brief’s insights, through research, sketches, as well as functional and formal solutions, to the submission and presentation of the product. The toolbox will be available to lecturers interested in integrating it in the courses they teach, and will serve as a key layer in constructing the interactions between students and tutors.
