The project presents a visual tool for decision making in extreme emergency situations in hospitals, when the current emergency protocol is unsuitable. The idea is to create a system of visual and dynamic guidelines that will enable decision makers to respond quickly to a changing reality and communicate their decisions effectively to all relevant parties.
The tool is based on design thinking principles, including the use of intuition and creativity. It includes the conversion of the existing protocol to a visual format, and enables rapid changes as required. The system will be used both routinely, for practice and creating a shared language, and in emergency for rapid decision making. “That doesn’t work in routine will not work in an emergency”.
