Breast cancer survivors cope with significant physical and mental challenges even after completing their oncological treatments. Although this is supposedly a period of victory and calm, the survivors still face multiple challenges: the dwindling of support systems, the loss of contact with the therapeutic envelope, the difficulty of readjusting to everyday life and more make them feel lonely and distressed.
This study developed tools for a positive transition to the recuperation period, above all the realization that self-management of the transition is a challenge but also an opportunity for empowerment and growth. These tools include health monitoring, nutrition and physical exercise, tailored information, and self-documentation tools that enable introspection and reflection and support emotional processing and wellbeing. Beyond internal processing, the information accumulated can be used as a platform for discourse with caregivers in a holistic and multidisciplinary approach. The tool is specified uniquely for the needs of survivors on the verge of menopause, a population with unique needs that are not necessarily met in the current settings.
Lifelong provides personal support by creating a community, thereby improving the survivors’ wellbeing. The ability to regain the strength and sense of efficacy, together with extensive knowledge, improve the survivors’ quality of life.
